Acts 2 and 3 of The Flying Dutchman

Film of the Dutchman, to put members in the mood for the new production of the Flying Dutchman which opens in Adelaide on Saturday 7 November. 
The film stars Donald MacIntyre as the Dutchman, Catarina Ligendza as Senta, Bengt Rundgren as Daland, and Hermann Winkler as Erik, and was filmed at the Bavarian Studios, Munich over 4 weeks in late 1974.  The music, which was recorded in May of that year, features the Bavarian State Orchestra and Opera Chorus under Wolfgang Sawallish.

DVD of Götterdämmerung, the Otto Schenk production for the New York Metropolitan Opera with conductor James Levine, Hildegard Behrens as Brünnhilde, Siegfried Jerusalem as Siegfried, and Matti Salminen as Hagen. The extract begins mid-way through Act 3 scene 2, following Siegfried’s stabbing by Hagen (“Brünnhilde, heilige Braut!”), and continues to the end of the opera.
